On 12/2/07 I was given an honor that is second
only to service to my country as a career
highlight. For those who don't know, I only
make guitar amps in my spare time. My regular
gig is as a Senior Project Engineer at Decrane
Aerospace / Audio International My main duties
are designing in flight entertainment gear. I
knew I had a pretty good year because I
managed to design 4 new LCD monitors and a
new DSP based 6 channel power amp. I also
designed a few other smaller gizmo as well.
Every year the senior management gets
together and picks an employee they feel best
served the company that year and announces
the winner at our company Christmas party. I
was totally blown away when they announced
my name.
They start off by talking about the winner and
you have to guess who it is. I realized after
about three sentences they were talking about
me. I got a huge knot in my stomach and when I
went up to accept the award I was speechless.
I work with some major kick-ass people and I
couldn't do it without a lot of help from a lot of
people. I'm very humbled by this award. I got a
beautiful plaque and $500!
All I can really say is: Thank you to everyone
and most of all thank you to the good Lord who
has blessed me so many times I simply can't
count them all.
