I just got back from a short trip to my hometown of Rochester, NY.
Sadly the main event was a memorial service for my Grandmother.

Parents and Grandparents fall on a bell curve just like everything
else. We have an ideal of what they're suppose to be like but many
times they don't follow the trend. My Grandmother was everything a
Grandmother is suppose to be: gentle, loving, great cook, great
sense of humor, smart as a whip and could remember in amazing
detail almost any facet of her life and experience. I'm one of those
smart asses that seems to know all the answers from history to
sports trivia. Grandma was one of the few people who could one
up me every time, I loved her dearly and will miss her deeply.

She lived a long and relatively healthy life of 91 years. She was
born during WWI, she grew up during the depression only
completing 8th grade because her parents needed her to help raise
her younger brothers and sisters. She was raised in Geneva, NY,
spent a few years in Oakridge, Tn while Grandpa was working on
the Manhattan Project and then spent the rest of her adult life in
the same house on Electric Ave. in Rochester. She was a charter
member of the Greatest Generation. She completed Nursing school
at 50 after her children were all grown. 4 children, 11 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren are her legacy

A truly amazing woman and matriarch.

Rest in Peace Grandma Bea no one has earned rest and peace
more than you.....
